Business Car Honours Bmw Group

BMW has unsurprisingly scooped an impressive seven awards from one of the country’s leading fleet publications. BusinessCar magazine has bestowed reputable BMW with the headline honours of ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ and ‘Environmental Award of the Year’ in addition to five further product specific awards.

While the BMW Group was crowned king in two main awards, the MINI was awarded ‘Supermini of the Year’, the BMW 1 Series ‘Lower Medium Car of the Year’ and the BMW 3 Series Saloon took the title of ‘Medium Car of the Year’. BMW’s class-leading 5 Series Saloon was again honoured with ‘Executive Car of the Year’ while the BMW X5 was named ‘Large 4×4 of the Year’…not a bad start to the year.

The BusinessCar Awards are the only honours in the market that are solely voted for by its readership giving them a particular credibility. The commendations recognise the class-leading technologies encompassed under the EfficientDynamics umbrella that have been instrumental in making BMW the leader in cutting CO2 emissions and improving fuel consumption, while still improving performance.

The combination of incredible efficiency, badge and product desirability and great driving cars has obviously struck a chord with the readers of BusinessCar as well as the all important corporate customers they are people whose decision greatly affects the operation of companies and organisations across the country.

With 166 BMW and MINI models emitting 160gkm of CO2 or less it is not hard to see why their products are so popular. With such vehicles leading the way BMW fully expect to remain ahead of the premium rivals in 2010. Drivers need to watch this space for the revamped BMW 3 Series. Cardiff dealers should be warned its going to be a manic year.
