Mercedes opens facility in Jacksonville, FL

Mercedes-Benz is proving its commitment to customer service and convenience by opening a customer support center in Jacksonville, Florida. Located near the Jacksonville airport, Darien Mercedes-Benz ML350 buyers will appreciate how this business combines customer and dealer support.

The new 415,000-square-foot building will house four business units: the Sales Operations Southern Regional Office; Parts Distribution Center; Quality Evaluation Center; and Learning and Performance Center. About 160 people will be employed at the new facility, which also has utilized state-of-the-art environmental design and systems.

By linking our core operations in one building, we can also create better efficiencies that will benefit our dealer network and our customers.”

This facility will support the Southern Region Mercedes-Benz USA which includes Darien Mercedes-Benz ML350 dealers and a total of 102 Mercedes dealers with locations in 12 states, including Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. It also encompasses dealers in Puerto Rico.

The new part of this conglomerate operation in Jacksonville is the Parts Distribution Center. It services about 70 Mercedes dealers in the region. There are four other parts center locations in the U.S.: Carol Stream, IL, Fontana, CA, Fort Worth, TX and Robbinsville, NJ.

The most innovative part of this site might be the Learning and Performance Center. It’s a training center for staff from dealerships and company employees. Offering over 120 classes each year, about 1,000 “students” converge on the Jacksonville sight from the southeastern region to get educated on the Mercedes-Benz brand. This is done through workshops, computer lab time, old-fashioned classroom teaching, virtual classrooms and also provides a cafeteria and a student lounge.

Employees of Darien used Mercedes dealerscan benefit by gaining the skills to provide more efficient and effective operation and better customer service. There are four other Learning and Performance Centers in the U.S. for Mercedes staffers: Houston, TX, Itasca, IL, Montvale, NJ and Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
