A nationwide survey by adulterous dating website IllicitEncounters.com has shown that BMW, Audi and Mercedes drivers are most likely to cheat over any other car owner.

The survey, which questioned 4,587 members of the site on all things motor-related, discovered that a whopping 21% of the site’s membership own a BMW, 18% own an Audi and 17% a Merc.

The study also found that the average web adulterer would happily travel up to 100 miles for the perfect affair partner.

In preparation for this year’s British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday, the site’s female members were asked which F1 driver they would most like to have an Illicit Encounter with. 30-year old current World champion Jenson Button received a landslide of propositions, scooping up 48% of the female vote, whilst Australian Red Bull ace Mark Webber and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso drew at 2nd place with exactly 389 votes each. Missing out on a podium finish in fourth was Maclaren’s young gun Lewis Hamilton, whilst ageing German Michael Schumacher trailed in last.
