An Estonian entrepreneur Margus Reinsalu took part in ´Vanishing Point` Rally Pagani 2008

From 12th to 15th of June the Estonian entrepreneur Margus Reinsalu was invited to the super car Pagani Zonda meeting in Verona, Venezia by Horacio Pagani, the owner of Pagani and the organiser of the occasion.

The meeting brought together 14 exclusive Pagani Zondas, among them a very rare purple Bugatti Veyron. This year’s gathering was already the 4th since 2004. Pagani Zonda models are a limited edition and only 100 of them have been sold altogether.

Margus Reinsalu is a keen supporter of GP2 and a member of Ferrari Owners Club of Andalucía. Recently he also signed an endorsement contract with the Spanish GP2 Team Racing Engineering whose driver Giorgio Pantano was a winner of Saturday’s race and leading the Grand Prix overall.

The Third annual St. Petersburg “Festivals of Speed” will take place in St. Petersburg, Florida in Vinoy Park on Sunday February 26, 2006 with a collection of the worlds leading “Super Cars” in attendance. Ferrari FXX, Bugatti Veyron, Maserati MC 12, Porsche GT1 and others all ready for display.

Festivities begin on Friday, February 24th with a “Jet Hop” reception. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport named the most expensive car in the world.

Internet auto insurance provider 4AutoInsuranceQuote.org released their report on the top ten most expensive cars in the world last week. Fast and flashy sports cars top their list of cars they say “you’ll probably never be able to afford.” The big winner (if you can call it that) in this study, with a price of $ 2.5 million, is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Coming in at number two on their list at $ 2.21 million is the Koenisegg Trevita. Lamborgini, Maybach, and Ferrari also hold spots on this European-dominated top ten list.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport model was designed by the German Volkswagon group and later produced by Bugatti Automobiles SAS. Not only is it the most expensive car in the world, it is also known as the fastest road-legal car in the world. It has a 1,200 metric horsepower engine and is able to reach speeds of 431.07 km/h (or 253.52 mph). A “blistering-fast” automobile, they say, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport can go from 0mph to 60mph in just 2.46 seconds.

An auto insurance quote comparison website, 4AutoInsuranceQuote.org releases many studies yearly on the automobile and auto insurance industry. Recent reports released by them include “The Most Expensive Cars To Insure,” “The Best Auto Insurance Companies,” “The Least Expensive Cars To Insure,” and “The Top 10 Most Stolen Vehicles.” While many of these studies are done annually, this is the first year in which 4AutoInsuranceQuote.org has released their list on the 10 most expensive cars in the world. Because of the overwhelming popularity of this report, however, owner James Shaffer says that this report will be done yearly “for a long time to come.”

A lot of interesting names appeared on this top 10 most expensive cars in the world list, they say. “We’ve all heard of Lamborghini and Ferrari,” owner James Shaffer says. “But how many Americans know what a Pagani Zonda is? They might be surprised to know that at $ 2 million dollars, it’s the third most expensive car in the world.”

To be listed on the top ten most expensive cars list, the vehicle has to be legal on the open road. It also has to be a vehicle available for purchase by the public. In addition, only one vehicle per company is allowed. There is no minimum price required to be listed, however, the “cheapest” vehicle on the list comes in at a modest $ 670,000.

The main challenge in developing the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport with its removable roof resulted from the unique structure of the fixed-roof Bugatti Veyron. An optimum combination of rigidity and lightweight engineering ensures the monocoque passenger cell of the original model is extremely strong, while weighing an absolute minimum . As the roof is an integral part of the vehicle’s structure, removing it meant the load paths had to be completely redesigned to maintain the vehicle’s rigidity and crash safety, and to offer additional protection from side impacts and rolling.

As a result, the monocoque structure has been reinforced around the side skirts and the transmission tunnel. The B-pillars have been cross-stiffened using a carbon fibre support, and a central carbon plate has been positioned beneath the transmission tunnel to ensure the vehicle suffers from less torsional flexing than any other roadster.

The front-wheel-drive L1’s aerodynamics are optimized by the two-seat layout with the occupants sitting in a row. The result is a car that is relatively long, quite low, and extremely slim. The monocoque and body is made of carbon fiber, and total weight of the L1 is a mere 838 pounds. We think that the seating configuration will likely be changed as development progresses; two people sitting behind each other is too unusual for prospective buyers.

Even so, the L1 looks refined and close to series production, which couldn’t be said of the 2002 concept. It could be on the market as soon as 2013, Volkswagen sources tell us. The L1 may seem ironic to those who remember that VW is also responsible for Bugatti, which makes the fastest production car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron, and which just unveiled the W-16 Galibier sedan concept. But if you think about the styles of both Piëch and current VW chairman Martin Winterkorn, this contradiction seems logical: These guys both tend to go to extremes. And we submit that the Volkswagen L1 is a more significant step in saving resources than are heavy gasoline-electric hybrids.
