‘Festivals of Speed’ Sports the World ‘Super Cars;’ Ferrari FXX, Maserati MC12, Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and Other Exotics Set for Display

The Third annual St. Petersburg “Festivals of Speed” will take place in St. Petersburg, Florida in Vinoy Park on Sunday February 26, 2006 with a collection of the worlds leading “Super Cars” in attendance. Ferrari FXX, Bugatti Veyron, Maserati MC 12, Porsche GT1 and others all ready for display.

Festivities begin on Friday, February 24th with a “Jet Hop” reception. Participants, sponsors and guests will gather in an actual aircraft hanger for a festive evening as they indulge in cocktails from a premium brands open bar and enjoy Martini’s from a sculptured ice bar. As for culinary options, guests will delight their palette with food from themed food stations On display will be a fabulous display of exotic cars, luxurious aircraft, custom motorcycles and high speed boats. Smooth Jazz, a live/silent auction and drawings to win luxury items are a part of the fun.

On Saturday the 25th a “Yacht Hop” will take place 12pm-3pm. As guests arrive, valets will escort attendees to a watercraft at the Renaissance Vinoy Marina. Once on board, guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres while having the opportunity to fully experience the grandeur of these magnificent vessels.

Saturday evening will see a reception at the Four Diamond Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club. Guests will gather for a very special evening as they enjoy cocktails from a premium brands open bar and indulge in a wide array of culinary delights. Live music, silent auctions benefiting the Children’s Dream Fund and festive Martini bars will add to the excitement. Tickets to the Friday and Saturday receptions are available, but limited. Considered to be the showplace of St. Petersburg’s waterfront, the Vinoy overlooks Tampa Bay and is surrounded by lush grounds. Mr. Berndt has just recently became a business partner in the Festivals of Speed and will be instrumental as a part of the company growth plan for 2006.

Featured for display will be an impressive selection of automotive marques including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, Bimota, Ducati, Donzi, Ferretti, Pershing, Sonic and many others. Porsche will be the honor marque for 2006. An automotive and motorcycle themed display of art and photography will also be onsite with works from artists across the country. As for entertainment, attendees can expect to stroll through the Park while enjoying smooth Jazz, onsite cafés serving food, beer and wine, free drawings to win high end watches and tickets to the Mobil 1 Twelve HOURS Of Sebring race and the St. Petersburg Grand Prix.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, with a $ 2.5 Million Price Tag, is Named the Most Expensive Car in the World

Internet auto insurance provider 4AutoInsuranceQuote.org released their report on the top ten most expensive cars in the world last week. Fast and flashy sports cars top their list of cars they say “you’ll probably never be able to afford.” The big winner (if you can call it that) in this study, with a price of $ 2.5 million, is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Coming in at number two on their list at $ 2.21 million is the Koenisegg Trevita. Lamborgini, Maybach, and Ferrari also hold spots on this European-dominated top ten list.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport model was designed by the German Volkswagon group and later produced by Bugatti Automobiles SAS. Not only is it the most expensive car in the world, it is also known as the fastest road-legal car in the world. It has a 1,200 metric horsepower engine and is able to reach speeds of 431.07 km/h (or 253.52 mph). A “blistering-fast” automobile, they say, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport can go from 0mph to 60mph in just 2.46 seconds.

An auto insurance quote comparison website, 4AutoInsuranceQuote.org releases many studies yearly on the automobile and auto insurance industry. Recent reports released by them include “The Most Expensive Cars To Insure,” “The Best Auto Insurance Companies,” “The Least Expensive Cars To Insure,” and “The Top 10 Most Stolen Vehicles.” While many of these studies are done annually, this is the first year in which 4AutoInsuranceQuote.org has released their list on the 10 most expensive cars in the world. Because of the overwhelming popularity of this report, however, owner James Shaffer says that this report will be done yearly “for a long time to come.”

A lot of interesting names appeared on this top 10 most expensive cars in the world list, they say. “We’ve all heard of Lamborghini and Ferrari,” owner James Shaffer says. “But how many Americans know what a Pagani Zonda is? They might be surprised to know that at $ 2 million dollars, it’s the third most expensive car in the world.”

To be listed on the top ten most expensive cars list, the vehicle has to be legal on the open road. It also has to be a vehicle available for purchase by the public. In addition, only one vehicle per company is allowed. There is no minimum price required to be listed, however, the “cheapest” vehicle on the list comes in at a modest $ 670,000.
